  • mforum.net - Official Pics of your Previous Cars Thread (not BMW restricted)

Thought this would be a fun thread to get going. We didn't all start out as ///M or even BMW enthusiasts.

Only rule: you can't own it anymore. This thread is for the ones that got away.

Toss up some pics, tell us a bit about why you loved or or hated it. Got more than 1 car to talk about? just make a new post for each one.

    corrado2k by GhstRidr, on Flickr

This was my first Corrado. While I'd always loved cars and anything mechanical really growing up, it was seeing a Corrado at the impressionable age of 12-13 that really got me into cars

I knew that I had to have one, but it was out of reach until I was able to put together some cash of my own. In 1999 I was able to pick this one up off of a friend who was selling to get into a VR6

It had 50k kms, it was bone stock, and it took every penny I could spare just to keep it rolling let alone modified.

I sold it to finance a trip, and actually bought it back almost 10 years later, but that's for a different post.

I miss this car all the time - still the best colour of any car I've ever owned.

On heinous wheels (what was I thinking)

        A few notable ones:

My first car, this was around 2006. S13 240SX, that I then swapped in a dual-cam motor, 2-way diff, suspension, etc.

I had a 99 323i for a short time around 2008-2009, exciting for a young adult to have a nice car, but overall a very boring car.

Throughout the end of high school and early college years I ended up in a Dinan S2 99 M3. Can't believe I used to think the Beyerns were decent.

Eventually moved on to a 330i.

I had another dozen 240SX's over the years, but this being my final version over the course of about 8 years, eventually selling it in early 2015. Two different RB's, a SR20, and then finally a 1JZ.

I had a Triumph Daytona 675 for a bit which I absolutely loved, putting about 12,000 miles on it in two years.

I got into a G35 sedan for daily duty which was a great car, but then moved to a bigger sedan with more amenities, the 09 M35S.

And the current stable consists of my Estoril Blue E36 M3, my Silvia S15 and M37S.

            Oh, where to start...
My first car was a AE100 4WD Corolla - that was a fun car to drive. Was hooked on JDM then, so when it was time to sell the AE100 I got myself a Toyota Windom 3.0G (US equivalent is Lexus IS300). Unfortunately, it was totalled in about a year, and since I was still on JDM kick, got myself a Toyota Corolla Sprinter, also a pretty fun little car. Then there was a Mitsu Lancer OZ Rally in yellow. Also had a Chevy Corsica 3.1 liter in there somewhere as a winter beater....I really don't have pictures of any of these cars, at least not where I can easily access them.

And then I bought my first BMW...and all went to hell. Nothing but bimmers since. Here is list of all my past and current ones:

            1. 2000 Z3 2.3 Impala Brown
            2. 2004 535i TiSilver
            3. 2002 Z3 2.5 TiSilver
            4. 2004 645Ci Black
            5. 2005 545i Black
            6. 2000 M Coupe (still have)
            7. 2013 535i Space Grey
            8. 2006 M6 Indianapolis (still have)
            9. 2003 M3 Carbon/Cinn
            10. 1999 M3 Dakar (still have)
            11. 2004 M3 Silver Grey
            12. 2016 640i Gran Coupe Aplinweiss
            13. 2000 M5 (still have)
            14. 2005 M3 ZCP Carbon (still have)
            15. 2019 535i (still have)

At some point, I had 3 black BMWs:

              In order:

My first car was a 1985 Toyota MR2 w/ a 5spd manual. Got it as a gift in non-running condition. Never ran during my entire ownership either.

Sold my MR2 for this 1999 528i Touring. Was in the process of accumulating parts for a full suspension rebuild as well as a manual swap. Ended up selling everything to buy my current e46 instead.

Then my 1997 M3 sedan. I was going to replace my e46 with this. My intentions were to manual swap it as soon as I sold the e46 and eventually supercharge it. It was too big of a turd, also love my e46 too much.

I have been into cars since I was 2 years old. I've owned many, mostly "foreign", cars, including an early 60's Sunbeam Rapier, 1983 Rabbit GTI, 1974 MGB GT, and a Mercedes 300TD wagon. All have been passed on to new caretakers, and I wish I still had every one of them.

I want one of those sooooo baaaad. What's ownership like? I've thought about getting one and keeping it at my wife's family home in Germany for a couple years. I was thinking of maybe just getting a Spec S areo kit car and putting a LSD in it, seems like the Spec R cars are a lot more spendy for a clean one. Looks like you got yours a little early lol. 😅

I still have the only 2 BMWs I've owned, before these I was a Honda guy. I had an EM1 that got jacked and then I had this hatch for like 7 or 8 years. Went from clean, to track rat, to part out and yea I do miss it sometimes!

I also drove a free SRT-4 for a while when I worked at Modified lol. Thing was a bit of a character building experience. It's like the 4 Loko of cars.

It's a really great car, I love it a lot. I've owned close to a dozen different S-Chassis's over the years and this one is by far the best in all areas. I've wanted one since I was a kid so when the opportunity presented itself I jumped. I'm planning to let it go sometime this year and come back to it around '24.

Love the EK, been watching the local market hoping for a cheap one to pop up, it seems those don't exist much anymore though.

My first car during 2016 was a hand me down 2002 E39 530i from my dad. It was a non sport package car, so I ended up putting the shadow line from, various bits the sport package offered like the steering wheel, etc.

A few months later, I ended up picking another e39 530i sport as a winter beater.

After that, I got another e39 530i sport, jet black (I got too many of them mainly because I got them for a good deal)

Sold the last 530i to get the Dakar yellow 95 e36 M3 Click image for larger version Name:	FB_IMG_1568392958790.jpg Views:	0 Size:	111.2 KB ID:	905

Sold the m3 and got a slicktop 328i/5 e46 in sienna red

                              I also picked up this e46 m3 6spd vert with a friend.

I picked up this Z3 from a shady used car dealership in town that was about to scrap this Z3. I put in a new fuel pump, radiator, power steering lines, and a coil pack to get it running in top top shape.

I got a trade offer for my z3 for a 740iL for trade plus some cash on the sellers end, however the alternator took a shit during the test drive. Nonetheless, I was interested and still worked a deal with the seller for the biggest shitbox 740iL. The seller met me 20 minutes away from my town. However, the moment I got on the exit ramp, the 740 died. My friend and I pushed it on the grass so we wouldn't get killed. I had another friend of mine bring us a jumper pack so that we could limp the 740 home. The 740 would die every 5 minutes after it got jumped. So we jumped it 5 times, till I got it home. After that, i went to lkq and pulled an alternator for it. Swapped it out and drove it for a while. It made a great winter beater and great car to haul my friends in. Despite the fact that it was a big shit box, I had a lot of fun driving it. It was a car I didn't care about and j just had fun messing around in.

I picked up this e39 540i/6 speed from a friend and daily drove this for a while. I absolutely loved it. It was the cleanest e39 I owned, and it was a great daily.

Sold the 540/6 to get an e46 330/6 ZHP. I drove the zhp for a month or so and sold it because it was "too refined" and boring. As an only car, the zhp didn't cut it for me. I could see why plenty of people choose a zhp as a daily but as a fun car, the zhp really wasn't fun for me. Till this date, I regret selling the 540 to get the zhp.
Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_20190804_161012.jpg Views:	0 Size:	2.39 MB ID:	917
After selling the zhp, I had an itch to get back into an e36 m3. I really wanted one. However, there really weren't any nice examples for sale at the time. I couldn't find the right one. Either people were asking too much for them or they were beat to shit. So I picked up this 97 328i/5 in Boston green. I decided to slam it with some 18" wheels and daily drove the shit out of it.

Then I picked up this Alpine white 95 E36 M3. This car had a few issues and I fixed them, but I realized really quickly that I wouldn't be able to keep it for a long time because it needed a paint job. After selling that AW M3, I went that following weekend to pick up my 99 cosmos M3 .
