I have the Euro ti headlights in my car. Glass lens non-projector that use the same bulbs as the US housings (no no harness splicing).
But, the ones in the car are UK spec (right-hand drive) so I have a second set of German Market housings on the bench to swap in. The UK ones have seized adjusters too…
So, I want to clean these well before I install them. Three torx screws and the inner lens is out of the way. Now to clean the reflector which is clearly covered in a filth film.
I figured the pre-moistened lens cleaning cloths we have for glasses would be good to use, but I actually had some areas where the silver sputter coating a was a removed from the reflector. Before I screw anything else up, what do we clean these reflectors with that won’t strip the aluminum off?
All that aside, comparing the clean to dirty (reflector and inner lens) it is quite noticeable:
