Coolant Level plug housing

The plug that connects to the coolant level sensor has never fit as tight as I would like it to and would frequently pop out. I'm hoping to replace the plug housing, but am unable to find the part number for this. Would anyone happen to know the part number? My car is a 95 so it has the older style sensor.

There's a couple of ways to tackle this since you have a 95.

Solution 1: If you choose not to change/upgrade the level sensor to the newer style one, then reorder these parts:

• BMW Plug Housing - Genuine BMW 61131378408 | FCP Euro
• 01 Snap-in receptacle 2.5 watertight 0,5-1,0 MM² 61130007441
• 01 Snap-in receptacle 2.5 watertight 1,0-2,5 MM² 61130007442

However, the receptacles have been on backorder for a while and unsure if they will be reproduce. Old stock goes for $20 a piece on ebay.

Alternatively, if you have spare fog light connector and receptacles:

• BMW Plug Housing (White) - Genuine BMW 61131378417 | FCP Euro
• BMW Round Receptacle 2.5 Watertight (1025 mm) - Genuine BMW 61130007446 | FCP Euro
• BMW Round Receptacle 2.5 Watertight (0510 mm) - Genuine BMW 61130007445 | FCP Euro

That connector was a snug fit against the male end of the sensor. It was a 90 degree connector and relieved a stress angle on the sensor harness as well. I personally repurposed the fog light connector (since I had fog delete and was using those wires to run my euro city lights).

Solution 2: use the newer style 96+ level sensor that uses a different connector. This style supposedly solve the issues with the older style. I only recommend this step if you are overhauling the cooling system or replacing a faulty sensor all together.

Then you would have to retrofit the newer style female connector anyway:

I did solution 2 on my 95, has been solid for a few years now.
