Having extended leather interior pieces does wonders for that recycle bin plastics look. Still better than that late 90's/early 2000's rubberized junk that looks like rats nibbled on molten cheese.
Great analogy re the 2000s stuff, unfortunately never had the opportunity to get extended leather doorcards. Learning to sew leather properly (and having a capable machine) might be a learning experience down the track as i have a few spare doorcards in need of non bubbled pockets
