Z3/ZHP steering rack swap-worth it?

Thanks for bumping this thread as I am just about to replace the JY rack that I pulled just to be able to steer my car around the garage with a non-m Z3 rack from Rackdoctor.

I used the same setup in my supercharged S52 E30 way back in the day and it felt great.

I’m glad this thread was bumped too. Life’s been crazy, so the car projects have been on the back burner. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I’ll be able to start.

First timer here posting here.

Can absolutely confirm that the Z3 rack (I went with a new Atlantic Engineering unit) transformed my 3/4/5. Very much a point-and-shoot kind of experience compared to the laziness of before.

Minor update: I removed the m3 rack today and began prepping to install the ZHP rack. So far, no major snags.
On a side note, I found a splined u-joint meant to replace the steering giubo online, so I’ll install that and let y’all know what my thoughts are.
